How we hold this quality

Uniform appearance

Bead blasting produces a consistent matte surface that hides light machining marks and gives anodizing a uniform base.

Controlled texture

Brushed finishes are applied in a single direction so panels and housings read consistently across an assembly.

Edge and burr control

Burrs are removed from functional edges and cosmetic edges are broken consistently so parts are safe to handle and assemble.

Cosmetic boundaries

Tell us which faces are visible and which must be left alone, and masking and process direction will follow that.

Surface preparation decides what a part looks like in the hand. The same machined housing can be bright, matte, grained or reflective — and only one of those will match the rest of your product.

Sequence matters

Blasting and brushing are usually performed before anodizing or coating, because they set the base texture that shows through. Polishing is often the last step before packing, on parts that stay bare. On tight-tolerance parts, polishing happens before final machining so that the material removed does not affect the fit.

Consistency across assemblies

Directional finishes are applied in one direction per part so a set of panels or housings reads consistently when assembled. Send a sample or a photograph of the target appearance, plus a note on which surfaces are visible, and the process is planned around that.

FAQ

Polishing & Deburring — frequently asked questions

Does polishing change dimensions?

Aggressive polishing removes material, especially on edges and small radii. On parts with tight tolerances we polish before final machining, or leave a finishing allowance and cut features after.

Which blast media should I choose?

Glass bead gives a smooth, bright matte; aluminium oxide cuts faster and leaves a coarser texture; walnut shell is used where a softer touch is needed. Send a sample of the appearance you want and we will match the media.

Can you polish welded stainless steel?

Yes. Welds are dressed and blended first, then the surface is brushed or polished so the joint does not read through the finish.
